While this day is a celebration for Conan the Republican and his fans, it is also a sad day. It is a somber moment as well because legendary Swedish director, Ingmar Bergman, continues his journey into the other world accompanied by Death himself.

I would like to say something inspiring or personal about the man, but sadly, it would be underwhelming and anecdotal at best. At its worst, it would be mundane, trivial and devoid of meaning. There are far better, smarter and more personal individuals who could do a much better job. All I can say is that having seen the Seventh Seal, made me truly realized the art of film, its power and its potential. He will be missed, but part of him will live on in his work.
