Today is Columbus Day. This day Americans traditional celebrate a possibly ethnic Croat, from Italy, who was commissioned by the Spanish Crown to find a Western passage to India. To his dying day he claimed he was in India and not a new continent. Also add to the debate the earlier North American visitation by Vikings and the possible assistance of Viking charts and you have one misguided celebration.
On a little side note, today I return to the city from America's midpoint.
