I work at
Chelsea Market. If you have been there, you know it to be the former Nabisco factory, which closed its doors back in the 50's. In the 90's Irwin Cohen reorganized the relatively unused space into a retail promenade and office space. Today was the 10 year anniversary. During the day, all the vendors provided samples of their products to all passersby, including a scale model cake of the market. The market was filled with these balloons.
If you want to know more, here is a more detailed
history of the market.
The promenade usually displays various art. Even though this current exhibit has been up for several weeks, I had not really stopped to take a look. How often does that happen? I would venture to say quite frequently, in this fast paced world. Anyway, this night as I left work, I stopped and noticed. These are the stand outs (these titles are purely speculation as I do not know the artist or the actual titles):
"Pop Culture in Red, Blue and Green"
"The Daily Close-Up"
"E=MC Stand-Up"
"Ben and the Bandit"
"The Gorgon Sisters in Color"
Happy Anniversary.
